We got a whopper of a snow storm and the kids actually got a snow day from school!! This practically never happens -- in fact, it was the first snow day in 13 years for our school district! We got the call about 6 a.m. that school was cancelled. We got about 18 inches of snow total from the storm. At some point, this is what our front yard and house looked like. But what do you do on a snow day? Shovel. Build snow caves. Shovel. Play in snow caves. And shovel some more. The kids had a great time! This is friend Dane, Jacob, & Matthew tunneling a cave in one of the snow piles by the driveway.
After all that shoveling, you can get really tired! This is Ryan taking a break!

I love snow!
Yet another cave.
This cave/tunnel was quite long. I think that's Jacob inside.
The next day the snow was more frozen and the caves/tunnels were more solid. This is Jacob sitting in his masterpiece cave.
Yeah, it's so long and deep, he almost disappeared from sight when he went inside to dig more!
I think Jacob looks like the groundhog peeking out of his hole to see if he makes a shadow!
