home from nyc

Our trip to NYC was awesome! NYC is everything you think it's going to be and a few things you don't think it will be. NYC is huge, busy, dirty, culturally diverse, and never sleeps. At the same time, the parks are gorgeous and well kept and a quiet respite from the busy city streets. I was also surprised to find a bazillion planter boxes around light posts or trees on the city streets. We did so many things and yet we barely scratched the surface of all the neat things the city has to offer. We got home around 9:30 last night and headed straight to bed. Today I'm busy trying to get caught up on things --like laundry, mail, grocery shopping and that sort of hum drum stuff. Many thanks to G&G Vawdrey for taking care of Jacob & Matthew while we were away. Many many thanks to Dave & Alicia for being such super hosts -- we enjoyed spending time with them and would have been lost (literally) without them!!
