Last night Jared went to a scouting court of honor for his YM activity. Mark & I thought it was only an EAGLE court of honor (3 kids in the ward earned their eagles) and Jared was just participating in the flag ceremony. Wrong! Apparently, they awarded all the scouts the merit badges and ranks that they had earned during the past 6 months or so. Jared came home with his second and first class rank badges and two merit badges. Yay Jared!! Not so "yay" for us parents. We didn't know this was happening, so we didn't go -- a stellar parenting moment -- NOT --on our part. I guess it's time to go purchase that scout-merit-badge-sash-thingy too.
