if you build it, they will come

Today is the opening day of the new Walmart (or Walm-a-part) as I so lovingly refer to it. I was very much against Walmart building here, but alas, the deed has been done. And so, yes, I went...and shopped...and felt guilty that I was there instead of at Target. It was opening day after all wasn't it? Anyway, I have never seen so many senior citizens in one place at one time (with the exception of the senior center) in my life! They must have come from miles around to explore the new store! The only other customers there were moms with kids in tow like myself. The parking lot was chaos, as if the Christmas season were here -- oh wait, that's always how Walmart is! And the burning question is -- did I actually buy something there? Of course. And I'll probably go back -- maybe before the end of the day actually, since I found some really cute ant (aunt) flannel for $2 a yard and realized I probably should have bought the whole bolt!

I'll give Walmart this-they're cheap and they have everything! I've been known to go there myself on occasion. Good work on the blog!

Thanks a lot, Shara. Now everyone has a blog but me. I think Alicia wouldn't mind having a Walmart close by.

Aaaaaaaaaagh WalMart. It looks like ours will be done sometime around Christmas. I feel the same way that you do about it, but alas, sometimes Target doesn't come through for me and I have to cross over to the dark side.

Welcome to blogging : ). I already added your link to my page.

You know, it's a good 3 hours of driving when Nicola and I want to go to WalMart, so you would think that it would be easy to avoid shopping there, but it still isn't. We still go there twice a month, because it's the cheapest place for dog food, and it's an excuse to get out of town without spending all day going to different stores. So don't feel too bad.
