Mark surprised me for our anniversary by renting mountain bikes. We climbed aboard and took off for the hills. Mark assured me the fire break road was relatively flat once we got up there. Wrong. It was really quite hilly. But that's what mountain bikes are for anyway, right?! We had a good time on the ups and downs and then decided to do some flat roads. We headed out to Farmington Bay and the bird refuge. The dirt roads were flat and we got some good speed. We had a great time exploring and trying out the bikes. By the end of the adventure, our bums were quite sore (I can definitely understand why bikers wear those padded shorts!) and Mark's bike ended up with a flat. Yep, sure signs of a good time!
