jacob goes to JA city

Jacob and all the 5th graders got to attend JA City (Junior Achievement City) at the Gateway Discovery Museum.  For one day, they all took on an adult job and ran the city -- government and businesses.  Jacob was CEO of First Security Bank for the day.  He got to approve loans, collect payments, and be the boss!  He was a little worried about it at first, but ended up really loving it!  But who doesn't like their own office, computer, and cushy leather chair?
 A little kick back time!
Helping a "customer" get a loan approved.
Not sure exactly what he was doing here, but loved the facial expression and being able to see his name badge.
When it was time to leave the city, the kids crossed the bridge back to 5th grader-hood.  This is Jacob with his friend, Grady.
I got to attend and help with the city. It was really fun!  I was helping in the radio station.  The kids there sold ads and read them over the radio and also were the dj's of the music for the whole day. This was a great learning experience for the kids -- they all worked for a paycheck, used a checkbook and credit card for purchases, and learned to donate to charity.  Previous to this day, each of the kids had to interview twice for their jobs with adults.  The whole experience was a great learning tool for life!
