election

A man who apparently doesn't know the grammatical difference between "principles" and "principals" just won our district school board election! Really? With such a blatant grammar error on ALL of his campaign literature, we really do have reason to be concerned about the education of our children (and maybe the voting public as well).
And as long as I'm on the election subject, WHY must we vote on recorders, assessors, treasurers, etc.? It just ought to be someone's job, not an elected position.
I hate politics.

Right there with ya, sister! But at least I voted, which also gives me the right to complain.

The thing I'm aghast at is do people actually READ what the candidates have to say...do they even look at the plans they have (or don't have) for what they plan to do if elelcted...or have they even remotely followed the track records of their incumbants...even a tiny little bit? Do people know they won't lose their temple recommends or wither up and die if they cross party lines and vote for someone OTHER than a Republican? Do they realize that some Democrats actually hold current temple recommends and still value the sanctity of life and marriage? Have they even paid attention to the mess both political parties have made of our country, especially when there's no balance of power or cooperation between the parties? Why do we even have to declare a party? Why do we even have to have them at all?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican or any other kind of "ite" for that matter. I was a Republican once, but they kept calling me incessantly during election season...and now, because I refuse to pledge my undying love for them by declaring a political party because of their antics, they now won't let me vote in their primaries. Boo! Hiss!

So long, farewell to both Halloween and Election Season!

Hilarious that I noticed the same thing about the school board candidates and voted accordingly. Seriously. If you're in the teaching profession or associated with education, you gotta learns to spell, yo.

I saved a brochure the other day for a tutoring place because it had a blatant misspelling in large letters on it. Pretty dang sure I'm not paying to have a place tutor my kid that can't even pull off spell check. Same goes for politicians.

Oh, I hear you about spelling errors from teachers and public officials! I guess I'm not very 'nice' when I get fliers home from school with those kinds of mistakes. I usually send it back corrected; and they wonder why educators get a bad rep!!
