two nice happenings

A couple weeks ago, just after we started eating dinner, the doorbell rang, and one of our neighborhood friends was standing there with a huge plate of marshmallow brownies for Jacob! What? Turns out that Jacob's school teacher had given each of her students a foreign coin from a recent vacation. As the kids were walking home, Maddie (our neighbors daughter) lost her coin on the grass field behind the school and was really sad about it. Jacob noticed what had happened and offered her his coin. Maddie was thrilled and went home to show her mom and tell her the story. Our sweet neighbor brought the brownies to say "thank you" to Jacob for being so nice. If she hadn't brought the brownies, we never would have known the story since Jacob didn't say a word about it. I'm so glad we got to hear the story! And yes, the brownies were delicious too!

Jared had to give a talk in church on Sunday. He did a good job preparing his talk and presented it very well. One of the sisters in our ward noticed and sent him a postcard in the mail today to tell him how well he did and how much she appreciated his talk. Gotta love that kind of mail!
