new jersey - more big city fun

What is a trip into the big apple without a stop at Times Square?  The place is SOOO very busy and with all the billboards and people milling about, it's overstimulation sometimes!  Anyway, there's lots of characters milling about ready for a photo op.  Matthew wanted a picture with Elmo, then Mickey jumped in too!  I snapped away before remembering that they expect money in return -- check out the money bag on Mickey.  Mark and I managed to find a few coins in our pockets and made a quick get away.  Sorry, SpongeBob, not getting your picture too!
In the heart of Times Square is one of the most fabulous toy stores ever -- a ginormous Toys R Us.  There's several levels to the store and a ferris wheel inside as well!  Our favorite stop is the Lego display.  Here's Matthew with the Empire State Building made entirely of legos!
And this Hulk was so awesome!

After leaving the hustle and bustle of Times Square we headed over to Central Park.  I am always amazed at how such a big city can have such an amazing expanse of green space right in the middle of it. You can truly forget you're even in the city at all.   We stopped by the large playground area where we had fun climbing around on the huge rocks.

A great way to end a big day in the city!
